Olympic rowing champion Anna Watkins has claimed that she is unlikely to team up with Katherine Grainger at the 2016 Games in Rio because she is pregnant with her second child.
Grainger announced last week that she has returned to training after a two-year absence following her gold-medal success at London 2012.
Grainger and Watkins paired together to win the double sculls final more than 24 months ago.
After Grainger announced her return, Watkins wrote on Twitter: "Delighted for Katherine, who's 38 and decided to go back to rowing. Go girl. I'm sadly very unlikely to join her, but for a happy reason – baby number two due in February!"
Watkins took a break from the sport to give birth to son William in late 2013.
