Ali Carter has booked a spot in the second round of the World Championship after defeating Mark Davis 10-2.
The 32-year-old, who has had an ongoing battle with Crohn's disease this season, started off brightly in the first session by claiming an 8-1 lead.
Davis's hopes of reaching the next round were dampened after Carter clinched a century break ahead of the final session.
While Davis managed to claim one frame in the closing stages, Carter remained composed and wrapped up the contest with a 132.
Carter will go head to head with tournament favourite Judd Trump in the next round.
