Ronnie O'Sullivan records an 18-13 victory over Judd Trump to win his seventh world snooker title at the Crucible.

Ronnie O'Sullivan has won the World Snooker Championship for a seventh time with an 18-13 victory over Judd Trump.

Having ended the opening day with a 12-5 advantage, the number two seed found himself six frames away from an historic win, equalling Stephen Hendry for most triumphs in the modern-day era.

However, it was Trump who enjoyed the better of the third session, the 2019 champion capitalising on some wayward shots from his opponent to reduce the gap to 14-11.

O'Sullivan returned on Monday evening with a stronger mindset, establishing a five-frame lead before Trump showcased his battling qualities to stay in the contest.

The 46-year-old dominated the 31st frame, however, compiling an 88 break to seal yet another world crown, leaving Trump with the runner-up spot for the second time in his career.

The pair now sit in the top two positions of the world rankings, moving clear of Mark Selby who is in third place.
