Michael Phelps has revealed that he is enjoying the experience of the London Olympics as he heads into the final stages of his competitive career.
The American will retire following the Games but he insists that he is relaxed, despite aiming to add to his 14 Olympic gold medals in London.
Phelps told reporters: "I'm having fun, this is something I enjoy.
"It's kind of cool walking through the village and seeing the athletes from everywhere.
"I think there are going to be a lot of firsts and a lot of lasts this week and I think over the last couple of years and I guess throughout my career I've been able to manage my emotional energy fairly well."
Phelps will swim his last race on August 4, in the 4x100m medley relay.
