Felix Loch leads luge after day one

Germany's Felix Loch leads the way after day one of the luge.

Germany's Felix Loch is at the top of the luge standings after day one.

The 24-year-old clocked a time of 51.964, which is a new track record, and was 0.309 seconds quicker than the Russian Albert Demtschenko in second. Armin Zoeggeler of Italy finished in third place, 0.423 seconds behind Loch.

Loch is the defending Olympic champion.

The last two runs begin tomorrow at 2:30pm GMT.
