Ireland's Seamus O'Connor has secured a spot in the semi-finals of the Sochi Winter Olympics men's snowboard half-pipe competition.
The 16-year-old was awarded a score of 66.25 for his first run of the heat, placing him eighth in the rankings when the rest of the field had completed theirs.
With his second effort, the United States-born teenager secured a result of 71.50 and came in eighth overall, with fourth to ninth qualifying for the semis.
Great Britain duo Ben Kilner and Dominic Harington failed to make it past the qualifying stage.
