Noriaki Kasai delighted with silver medal

Japanese ski jumper Noriaki Kasai is delighted at winning a silver medal in the men's large hill competition at the Winter Olympics in Sochi.

Japanese ski jumper Noriaki Kasai has said that winning a silver medal in the men's large hill competition at the Winter Olympics in Sochi made up for the disappointment that he felt following the normal hill event earlier in the Games.

Kasai finished eighth in the normal hill last Sunday, but the 41-year-old came back strongly six days later and finished just 1.3 points behind double gold medalist Kamil Stoch in the large hill.

"I took the medal that I didn't take in the normal hill," Kasai told Japan Today. "Then I felt regret and now I feel happy."

Kasai now has Olympic medals 20 years apart, having won his first - a team silver with Japan in the large hill - in Lillehammer in 1994.
