Viktor Ahn overjoyed with Sochi exploits

Viktor Ahn says that he is delighted with his performance for Russia at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.

Russia's Viktor Ahn has described his experience in Sochi as the 'best of his sporting career'.

The 28-year-old short track speed skater, who won three gold medals for South Korea at the 2006 Turin Games, clinched his sixth career gold at the 2014 Winter Olympics when he helped his team emerge victorious in the 5,000m relay on Friday.

"I'm very happy we were able to win a medal as a team," BBC Sport quotes him as saying. "I wanted one thing, which was for all of us to be smiling together.

"This has been the best experience of my sporting career and I will never forget Sochi.

"Before the competition started, I just wanted to concentrate on doing my best and show what I could be on the Olympic stage."

Ahn is the first athlete to win gold in all four short track events in Winter Games history.
