Great Britain skier Murray Buchan "over the moon" with run

Murray Buchan admits that he is delighted with his second run despite not managing to qualify for the ski half-pipe final.

Great Britain's ski half-pipe competitor Murray Buchan has revealed that he was delighted with his second run that took him into 17th in the qualifying round on Tuesday.

Buchan's score of 62.40 was not quite enough to make the final, but despite this the skier was "over the moon" with managing to reach his target of finishing in the top 18.

"I'm over the moon, it was the first time I've landed a double and it felt amazing," he told BBC Sport after his second run.

"It wasn't enough for the final which I'm disappointed about but I'll be back and hopefully even stronger in four years' time at the next Olympics."

Buchan's teammate James Machon finished in 23rd in the qualifier.
