Great Britain skier Emma Lonsdale has revealed that her Olympics is not just about winning a medal when she competes in the half-pipe.
The 29-year-old is competing in her first Games as the half-pipe was added to the programme for the first time in Sochi, and she feels that the experience will be just as rewarding with or without a medal.
Lonsdale told the Westmoreland Gazette: "A lot of people have asked me questions about medals and I'm not really answering them as it's not what it's about really.
"From the moment it was announced I was on the team the whole process began and for me it's not all about tomorrow but the last eight years.
"The journey to get here is what it's about. It's just phenomenal that tomorrow I will get to show Great Britain what half-pipe skiing is all about."
Lonsdale gets her campaign underway in the qualifying round later today.
