Amy Williams "proud" of Lizzy Yarnold

Amy Williams says that she is "proud" that Lizzy Yarnold won gold in the women's skeleton event at the Winter Olympics in Sochi.

Former British skeleton racer Amy Williams has said that she is "proud" of her compatriot Lizzy Yarnold for winning gold at the ongoing 2014 Sochi Games.

The 25-year-old finished 0.97 seconds faster than the USA's Noelle Pikus-Pace in the women's skeleton event on Friday.

"Lizzy's been a beautiful bubble of confidence in every one of her races," The AP quotes Williams as saying.

"I'm so proud of her that we kept the medal in Great Britain and wrote ourselves into the history books."

Williams won the gold medal in the same event at the 2010 Vancouver Games.
