Larry Fitzgerald not focusing on trade rumours

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald insists that he is fully focused on helping his side despite ongoing rumours of a trade away from the franchise.

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald has insisted that he is paying no attention to reports of a potential trade away from the franchise.

Fitzgerald's salary-cap number increases to $18m (£11m) next season, meaning that the Cardinals could save as much as $8m (£4.9m) if they were to trade him.

However, the deadline for trades is on Tuesday, which would mean that the Cardinals will have to wait until the off-season to complete the move if they can't get it done in time.

Fitzgerald insists that he is fully focused on helping the Cardinals while he remains their player, and that any potential move would be out of his hands.

"I come to work every day and just focus on how I can help the Arizona Cardinals and help my team win," Fitzgerald is quoted as saying by ESPN.

"If they decide to move me, that happens. I have no control over any of that. I just focus on what I can do to improve and help my team."

The 30-year-old is the Cardinals' all-time franchise leader in receptions (796), yards receiving (10,835) and receiving touchdowns (81).
