Nottingham Forest will be bidding to end a 125-year run when they face Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday.

Nottingham Forest will be bidding to end a 125-year streak when they square off against Everton on Sunday.

Nuno Espirito Santo's side make the trip to Goodison Park looking to strengthen their hold of a top-four place in the Premier League table.

Four successive wins have been posted in the top flight, the latest coming on Boxing Day as the Tricky Trees edged out Tottenham Hotspur.

With Arsenal and Chelsea not playing until Monday and New Year's Day respectively, Forest have the opportunity to move into second position in the standings with maximum points.

However, for that to become a reality, Forest will need to do something that they have not achieved since 1898-99.

What streak are Forest looking to end?

Earlier in the season, Forest pulled off one of the shocks of the season so far as they recorded a 1-0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield.

Forest remain the only side to defeat the Premier League leaders during 2024-25, and there will be belief that they can beat an Everton side that has only won two of their eight league encounters at Goodison Park.

Nevertheless, if Forest do manage to emerge victorious on Sunday, it will represent the first time in 125 years that they have registered away league wins at Liverpool and Everton in the same season.

That said, the East Midlands outfit have recorded just one clean sheet in their last 16 league fixtures at Goodison Park.

Furthermore, Forest are also looking to equal a club record of five consecutive victories in the Premier League, last achieved in 1995.

Everton bidding to extend own encouraging form

Everton, meanwhile, are currently on their own unbeaten run, putting together a four-game streak which has led to six points.

Draws have been posted against each of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City in succession, while they have goalless stalemates to their name in their three games against top-five teams this campaign.

Sean Dyche is currently on an eight-match undefeated streak in league contests versus Forest.
