The Atlanta Falcons have agreed deals to sign safety Dwight Lowery and cornerback Josh Wilson

Lowery joins having been released by the Jacksonville Jaguars at the end of last season, ending his injury-hit three-year stint with the team.

The 28-year-old was initially drafted by the New York Jets in the fourth round of the 2008 NFL Draft, going on to spend three seasons with the team before his move to Jacksonville.

He is expected to act as a replacement for Thomas DeCoud, who has been released by the Falcons, with starter William Moore and former seventh-round picks Kemal Ishmael and Zeke Motta the only other safeties on the roster.

Wilson, meanwhile, has signed a one-year deal and will compete with Robert McClain and Javier Arenas in the nickelback position.

The 29-year-old has previously played for the Seattle Seahawks, Baltimore Ravens and Washington Redskins, and was chosen in the second round of the 2007 Draft.
