Peyton Manning hoping Denver Broncos gain "new identity" in 2014

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning says that his side must establish themselves as the "2014 team" after last season's Super Bowl heartache.

Denver Broncos star Peyton Manning has urged his team to move on from the Super Bowl loss last season.

Manning's men were soundly beaten by the Seattle Seahawks in February, and the experienced quarterback has stated that he knows how important it is to put the defeat behind them.

In order to move forward, the veteran is keen for the Broncos to gain a new identity.

He told reporters: "You have to move forward. You have to kind of reestablish your identity as the 2014 team; 2013 was a good season in a lot of ways, there's no question.

"It did not end the way we wanted it to, but we have to build off that and try to take it a step further, try to finish. There's no question, we kind of have to start over and reestablish the chemistry on this team with all the new players.

"That's important, and that really starts on Monday when we meet up."

The Broncos were ranked the number one team in the AFC last season, ending with a 13-3 regular season record.
