Denver Broncos defensive end Derek Wolfe has confirmed that he will return to the football field soon following his injury scare.

Wolfe took a hit to the head and left the field on a stretcher during the Broncos' 40-10 defeat to the Seattle Seahawks.

There were concerns that he had suffered a spinal injury in the incident, but Wolfe has since taken to Twitter to thank everyone who supported him.

"Thanks for the prayers everyone, ill be okay and will be back on the field soon ..." he tweeted on Sunday.

Wolfe started all 16 regular season games for the Broncos last season.
