Jim Caldwell to interview for head coach role with two teams

Ex-Indianapolis Colts coach Jim Caldwell is being lined up by both the Detroit Lions and the Washington Redskins to fill their vacant positions.

Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Jim Caldwell will interview with both the Detroit Lions and the Washington Redskins regarding their vacant managerial positions.

Caldwell is credited with playing a major role in the Ravens' Super Bowl victory last season, though as a head coach he guided the Indianapolis Colts there in 2009, only to lose Super Bowl XLIV to the New Orleans Saints.

His stint in charge of the Colts ended poorly when Peyton Manning became injured and without him, Caldwell's men tumbled to 2-14 in 2011.

Jim Schwartz and Mike Shanahan were both fired on Monday by the Lions and Redskins respectively, and both franchises are keen to act quickly to secure their replacements.
