New Houston Texans defensive end Jadeveon Clowney has insisted that he still has "a lot to prove", having been chosen with the number one overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.
The Texans had been rumoured to be open to a trade for their number one pick as the Draft got underway last night, but once nothing materialised they opted for the former South Carolina Gamecocks star as their choice.
Clowney had been widely tipped to be chosen first overall, but the 21-year-old was still "overwhelmed" at the Texans' decision to draft him.
"I'm feeling overwhelmed. I'm feeling great right now. It's just a blessing, man. I appreciate it. I'm just glad to be a part of the Houston Texans," Clowney said at the Draft ceremony.
"I think I have a lot to prove to people. That's what I'm looking forward to, proving a lot of people wrong. I'm just ready to get down and get going with the Houston Texans."
