Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly 'serious contenders' to sign Bayern Munich forward Leroy Sane this summer.
The 29-year-old only has a contract at Allianz Arena until the end of June, and Bayern have thus far found it difficult to sign him to an extension, with both parties seemingly preparing to separate this summer.
Sane has again been a regular at Allianz Arena this term, scoring eight goals and registering two assists in 27 appearances, but it is believed that Bayern are 'close to giving up' in the battle to keep him.
A number of clubs, including Manchester United and Arsenal, have been linked with the Germany international, who famously previously played in the Premier League for Manchester City between August 2016 and July 2020.
However, according to CaughtOffside, Spurs have emerged as 'serious contenders' for Sane, with the North London club determined to win the race for his signature at the end of the campaign.

The report claims that Barcelona are also keen, but the Catalan outfit are already well-stocked in the wide areas, while financial problems could ultimately prevent them from signing the attacker.
Sane is believed to be keen to make the move back to the Premier League, having impressed during his time at Man City, scoring 39 goals and registering 43 assists in 135 appearances for the club in all competitions.
The forward had a record of 25 goals and 29 assists in 90 Premier League outings during his time with the Citizens, while he also has impressive numbers at Bayern, scoring 56 goals and registering 51 assists in 202 appearances.
Sane is also believed to have attracted the attention of Man United, with a number of clubs set to battle for his signature, but Tottenham are believed to have already had 'positive talks' with his representatives.

Do Tottenham need another wide forward?
Tottenham have three players in double figures for the season in terms of goals, with Brennan Johnson on 12, Dominic Solanke on 11 and Son Heung-min finding the back of the net on 10 occasions.
Mathys Tel is also now at the club, joining on loan from Bayern, and Spurs have the option to sign the youngster on a permanent basis during this summer's transfer window.
Head coach Ange Postecoglou is determined to add more depth to his squad at the end of the season, though, and the chance to sign a player of Sane's ilk on a free transfer is an opportunity not to be missed.
It would also be some coup for Spurs if they could pull it off considering the number of clubs that are also expected to be in the race for his signature this summer.
