Houston Texans' Arian Foster out for the season

The Houston Texans confirm that they have placed running back Arian Foster on injured reserve ending his season.

The Houston Texans have announced that they have placed running back Arian Foster on injured reserve.

The 27-year-old has suffered a back injury that has plagued him for the past few weeks and he aggravated it during his side's loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

Foster will now miss the rest of the season and may require surgery to amend the problem, so the team had little choice but to place him on IR.

Ben Tate will now become the Texans' primary back for the rest of the campaign with Dennis Johnson, Deji Karim and Ray Graham also available at the position for Gary Kubiak.

The Texans also released veteran safety Ed Reed in another roster move today.
