Ed Reed: 'I need to improve my performances'

Houston Texans defensive back Ed Reed vows to improve his performances for his side this season following a poor start to the campaign.

Houston Texans safety Ed Reed has admitted that he needs to improve on his performances for his side this season.

The 35-year-old signed for the Texans in the off-season after becoming a free agent after winning the Super Bowl with the Baltimore Ravens in the 2012 campaign.

Reed feels that his displays this season have been below par and is determined to help his side get back to form after five consecutive defeats.

"I'm still focused," Reed told the Houston Chronicle. "I'm still able to do the things that I know I can do, that I've been doing. It's just a matter of getting opportunities and taking advantage of those opportunities.

"I can't be lackadaisical when it's time for me to make any play, whether it's a tackle, fumble recovery, anything that it might be. [You] definitely will see a change."

The Texans are 2-5 in their season going into week eight.
