Half-Time Report: Miami Dolphins in control against Carolina Panthers

The Miami Dolphins hold a 10-point advantage over the Carolina Panthers at the break in their NFL clash at Sun Life Stadium.

The Miami Dolphins are in control of their NFL clash with the Carolina Panthers at the break.

The Panthers tried to take advantage of an early turnover as Ryan Tannehill's pass was intercepted after several attempts to grab the ball by Josh Thomas, but Cam Newton's offense could not get in the end zone.

It got even worse for the visitors when Graham Gano's 35-yard field goal was blocked.

However, on their next possession the Panthers did get on the board after Newton once again failed to find the end zone; but this time Gano dispatched his kick from 52 yards between the posts to give his side the lead.

The Dolphins needed to respond and they got just that when Tannehill scrambled out of the pocket and threw deep down the right-hand sideline for Mike Wallace, who beat Captain Munnerlyn in coverage and went in for the 53-yard score.

Miami put several good drives together in the second quarter but could not find the end zone again, forcing Caleb Sturgis into three field goals to hand his side a 13-point advantage.

However, seconds before the break Gano brought his side within 10 with a kick of his own from 46 yards.
