Jerome Felton has undergone an emergency appendectomy which is likely to rule him out for the remainder of the pre-season.
The Minnesota Vikings full-back had the surgery yesterday, which is expected to keep him off the field for a fortnight.
The 27-year-old, who signed a new three-year contract with the Vikings earlier this year, spent last season blocking for running back Adrian Peterson, who went on to be named the league's MVP.
Felton has previously had spells with the Indianapolis Colts, Carolina Panthers and Detroit Lions.
