Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder has dismissed claims that he will be 'auditioning' for a place with other teams when he plays on Thursday.
Ponder is due to take a healthy portion of snaps for the Vikings in their final warm-up against the Tennessee Titans, but he heads into the game with his own future in doubt.
He is currently behind Matt Cassell and Teddy Bridgewater on the depth chart, with speculation mounting that a good performance against the Titans could lead to him being used as bait in a trade.
"I just want to go out and have a good game," Ponder told the St Paul Pioneer Press. "It's not for an audition for another team or anything, but for myself and this team.
"Right now, my thoughts are securing a spot on this Vikings roster."
As yet, Ponder has not asked the franchise to be traded away, nor has he been approached by another team.
