Sean Payton: 'Drew Brees knee injury not a concern'

New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton insists that quarterback Drew Brees is fine despite being limited in practice with a bruised knee.

Sean Payton has said that Drew Brees is "fine" despite being limited in the New Orleans Saints' Christmas Day practice with a knee injury.

The quarterback was able to fully participate in yesterday's session after being hindered by a bruised knee on Wednesday.

The head coach told reporters: "He's fine. He had a right knee bruise. There's nothing more to it than that.

"And yet we thought it was best [if] we limited the amount of snaps he's getting. We just felt like we had a day to do that."

The Saints, who are yet to clinch a spot in the playoffs, face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.
