New York Giants won't rush Eli Manning back

Eli Manning will not be rushed back into action, according to New York Giants general manager Jerry Reese.

New York Giants general manager Jerry Reese has admitted that there will be no rush to get quarterback Eli Manning back on the field, in order to ensure he is fully fit.

Manning is expected back in light training in the middle of May, but Reese said that he would most likely not take part in the spring practices so that he is fit for the start of pre-season proper.

"Manning is [out of spring ball]," he told New York Daily News. "We want him back for the summer. We're not going to rush him back."

The Giants QB underwent surgery less than a month ago on his troublesome ankle.
