The NFL Competition Committee have announced that 13 rule changes will be discussed at the Annual League Meeting next week.
The first rule change could see a new layer to replay reviews, meaning that a referee would have the ability to consult with the NFL officiating department in New York during reviews, allowing decisions to be made more accurately and quickly. Officials would speak with the team, who will have already started to view the play as soon as it is challenged.
Also on the agenda is the suggestion that the PAT shot should be moved back to the 25-yard line, goal posts should be raised by five feet and moving kickoffs from the 35 to the 40-yard line.
Other issues such as the placements of cameras, rules regarding stadium roofs and trading and rosters will also be spoken on when the committee meets in Orlando, Florida.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will be present during the meetings, with decisions expected to take most of the week before any changes are officially announced.
