Philadelphia Eagles coach Chip Kelly has revealed that he chose Michael Vick as his starting quarterback from tomorrow's pre-season opener simply because it was his turn in the rotation plan.
Vick was chosen for the match against the New England Patriots ahead of Nick Foles, who has also been pushing for a starting place in the side.
However, Kelly is planning a rotation system for the upcoming season and revealed that Foles will get his chance in their next pre-season game.
"It was Mike's day in the rotation, that was the easiest way for us to do it and then we'll make sure the rotation works out that Nick will get the start next week," Kelly said on the team's official website.
"The two of those guys, we feel like we've got it balanced out. We met with those guys this morning, they were great with it, so that's kind of our plan going in."
The Eagles will start their regular season on September 9 with a match against the Washington Redskins.
