Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick has joked that it is going to be a "long season" for his side after their opening match was played at a frenetic pace.
The Eagles shocked NFC East rivals the Washington Redskins with a 33-27 win last night, taking a 26-7 lead into half time having squeezed 53 plays into the opening two quarters.
New Eagles coach Chip Kelly demonstrated his fast-paced tactics in that period as his side's offence gained 322 yards compared to the Redskins' 75, while they were also in possession for more than 20 minutes.
"I've never been a part of anything like it. When the first quarter was over, I thought we was about to go to go into half time," Vick told The AP.
"It was unreal. The only thing I could tell myself was, 'It's going to be a long season'."
Meanwhile, Eagles head coach Jeffrey Lurie has hailed the win as a "great dream".
