Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly has revealed that he hopes that quarterback Nick Foles will remain his side's starter for a "long time".
The 24-year-old threw three touchdown passes guiding his side to victory over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday to move the Eagles to 7-5 in their season and within touching distance of a playoff berth.
Kelly told 94WIP: "Yeah, you hope. But — and I don't mean to be coy, I always say this — is that, you can say that whomever it is, is your player of the future and then next week they get hurt. You know, so, I hope Nick is here for a long time.
"I'm a big supporter of him, I think he does a fantastic job, but we also know that injuries occur in this game and that's why I always qualify what I say. I love the kid and I think he's playing outstanding."
Foles has thrown 19 touchdowns this season and zero interceptions.
