Jed Collins has helped the New Orleans Saints take a 14-10 advantage into the break of their NFL clash with the San Francisco 49ers, scoring their second touchdown two minutes from the interval.
The Saints got on the scoreboard first when quarterback Drew Brees engineered a 94-yard drive, which culminated in him finding tight end Josh Hill in the end zone for a four-yard score.
Colin Kaepernick and the 49ers responded as they drove the ball downfield with the aid of running back Frank Gore, but wasted a chance to level when Jon Baldwin caught a pass in the end zone but lost control of the ball going to ground.
However, on the next play Kaepernick drilled the ball to Anquan Boldin on a back-shoulder fade for the 11-yard score.
The visitors then edged ahead thanks to the trusty boot of Phil Dawson, who made no mistake from distance to send a 55-yard field goal sailing between the posts.
There was still time for New Orleans to respond, though, with Collins finishing a quick drive from close range to give the hosts a slender lead.
