Jim Harbaugh has said that Michael Crabtree "looks great" as he continues his recovery from an Achilles tear.
The San Francisco 49ers wide receiver sustained the injury during the team's minicamp earlier this year and is not expected to return to full practice until at least November.
The side's head coach told the Sacramento Bee: "[I] wouldn't categorise it as 'ahead of schedule' because he's just starting to move on it.
"It's just been healing so far. But it looks great. And that's in the words of the doctors, so, again, optimistic there."
Crabtree was the 49ers' leading receiver in 2012, scoring nine touchdowns for 1,105 yards.
