The NFL's league office has confirmed that Aldon Smith of the San Francisco 49ers will not be fined for a supposed kick on Robert Griffin III when the 49ers met the Washington Redskins earlier this week.
The 49ers eased to a comfortable 27-6 victory, as both Anquan Boldin and Vernon Davis made good use of the returning Mario Manningham to carve open the Skins at the back.
During the game it appeared that Smith caught Griffin with a dangerous kick between the legs. However it was confirmed by NFL media on Friday that Smith would escape a fine.
The victory means that the 49ers now move into a tied second position with Arizona Cardinals in the NFC West Division.
