Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman has praised his side's wide receivers following their Super Bowl victory over the Denver Broncos yesterday.
Hall of Fame receiver Cris Carter criticised the Seahawks' offense in the build-up to Sunday's showpiece event, calling their wide receivers "pedestrian" and claiming that they were "appetisers".
The defensive unit of the Seahawks took much of the credit for their 43-8 win over the Broncos yesterday, but Sherman was keen to point out how important the offense was as well.
"Our receivers were called pedestrian, and also called appetisers. I think if anybody took a bite out of them, they would be pretty full," Sherman told reporters.
Seahawks receiver Doug Baldwin also took issue with Carter's comments after helping his side to their first ever Super Bowl success.
