Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman believes that his teammate Malcolm Smith's contribution to the team has been "overshadowed".
Smith scored an interception touchdown and recovered a fumble on his way to being named Super Bowl MVP in the Seahawks' impressive 43-8 victory over the Denver Broncos last night.
Smith also made the late interception that saw Seattle past the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC championship game, a play that was pushed into the background following Sherman's post-match outburst.
"I think Malcolm Smith was overshadowed last week, with all the noise, with my rant and everything, all the attention it got," Sherman told reporters after the match.
"People lost track of Malcolm Smith making an incredible interception that sealed that game. And today I think he really put his stamp on the game."
Sherman suffered a high ankle sprain during the fourth quarter and was not able to finish the match.
