Kamerion Wimbley has said that he would like to remain with the Tennessee Titans in 2014.
The defensive end has three years remaining on his contract with the AFC South, but his high pay leaves him in danger of being a salary cap casualty.
The 30-year-old told The Tennessean: "I would love to be back, and I expect to be back in a Titans uniform. They are doing some exciting things.
"My contract is not up, and I am training as hard if not harder than I've trained any other off-season. So yeah, that is what I am expecting. Unless I hear something different, I expect to be back.
"The emphasis this year was to stop the run and they brought in players to help us to do that so I was in more of a rotation. But I definitely feel I am capable of [doing more]."
In the two seasons since Wimbley signed a $35m (£21.3m) contract, he has made 41 tackles, seven sacks and a forced fumble.
