Washington Redskins coaches have reportedly said that Robert Griffin III's difficult second season is the result of the player's so-called insecurity about losing his position to Kirk Cousins.
Griffin sat out most of the off-season due to knee surgery and a report by NFL Media's Albert Breer has claimed that some Redskins coaches felt that the rising quarterback rushed himself back in fear of losing his starting spot in the side.
The rookie quarterback has long been touted as the future of the Redskins, however a number of lacklustre performances of late have cast doubts over Griffin's fitness and place in the team.
The Redskins face New York Giants at the FedEx Field on Sunday night.
