Mike Shanahan pleased with Robert Griffin III return

Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan says that Robert Griffin III did a good job on his return to full practice with the team.

Mike Shanahan has said that Robert Griffin III did a "good job" with his first 11-on-11 drills of training camp.

The 2012 offensive rookie of the year has been limited in practice with the Washington Redskins since returning from knee surgery.

The head coach told reporters: "It was nice to get him into a team atmosphere. I thought he did a good job and it was a good first day. It's a different environment when you go into a team situation. He's had a lot of reps, but it's obviously sped up when you go into a situation like we did [yesterday]. It was good for him.

"[Griffin III] will get more accustomed every practice he has, every rep he gets, and obviously our goal is to get him ready for the first game. Hopefully there is no setback."

Shanahan has previously indicated that the quarterback will not feature in any of the Redskins' pre-season games.
