Former Olympic champion Roman Sebrle has pulled out of the London 2012 decathlon after the first round.
The Czech athlete was bottom in the standings after the 100m opening event and then warmed up for the long jump before deciding to call it a day.
The 37-year-old was Olympic champion in Athens eight years ago and is one of only two men to accumulate over 9,000 points in the 10-event competition.
The other is young American Ashton Eaton, who ran a new Olympic-best time in the 100m by sprinting over the line in 10.35s.
Sebrle, who crossed the line in 11.54s, is likely to never compete in an Olympics again.
