Alistair Brownlee has insisted that he does not plan to give up the triathlon to focus on track running after winning two golds at the Commonwealth Games.
The 26-year-old, who won gold in the individual triathlon event before securing a win in the mixed team competition yesterday, attempted to qualify for the 10,000m in Glasgow, but injuries forced him to abandon his plans.
"The track was a goal - to try to come to the Commonwealths to do it. It would have been a fantastic achievement to do it but it just didn't work out unfortunately," BT Sport quotes the Olympic champion as saying.
"At the moment I'm completely focused on triathlon, obviously the rest of this year and then on to Rio."
Last year he completed a 10,000m event just 12 seconds short of the B qualifying time for the Commonwealth Games.
