Yohan Blake has admitted that he is sorry to be missing the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow later this month.
The Jamaican sprinter, who recently returned to action following a battle with hamstring problems, elected to skip the meeting in Scotland as he continues his preparations for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
"Of course I'm disappointed to be missing out on Glasgow 2014, but it's in my best interests," Blake told reporters. "I'm trying to be positive and there will be many more Commonwealth Games to look forward to.
"I'm sorry I'm not going to be here, the Scottish people have really been looking out for me, but they understand the level of competitive person I am.
"There are the World Championships and Olympics coming up in the next couple of years and I have to be at my best for that."
Blake will race in the 100m when the Diamond League visits Hampden Park on Friday.
