The agent of Paralympic gold medalist Oscar Pistorius has confirmed that his client will not compete for the remainder of 2013 as he awaits trial for the murder of his girlfriend.
The 26-year-old is currently on bail after he was charged with the premeditated murder of Reeva Steenkamp in February of this year.
Upon appeal, certain bail conditions were lifted that meant that he could race overseas. However, his representative Peet van Zyl has revealed that Pistorius has no intention of taking to the track.
"There was never any pressure from me or his coach (Ampie Louw) to return to competition, it's his decision and it's his decision not to compete," Van Zyl told PA Sport.
It means that Pistorius will be absent from August's World Championships in Moscow.
