British athlete Jenny Meadows has thrown her participation in this summer's London Olympics into doubt after pulling out of the European Athletics Championships.
The 31-year-old, who collected bronze in the 800m race at the World Athletics Championships in Berlin in 2009, has suffered a reaction to an Achilles injury, which has forced her out of competing in the semi-finals in Helsinki this evening.
The blow could hamper her chances of representing Great Britain this summer, with the Team GB squad due to be announced on Monday.
Meanwhile, Mo Farah successfully defended his European crown in the 5,000m in Helsinki yesterday.
