Great Britain sprinter Adam Gemili has cruised into Friday's 200m final at the European Championship by winning tonight's semi-final.
The 20-year-old is on course to follow up his Commonwealth silver in Glasgow by cruising to victory in Zurich in a time of 20.23s, ahead of the Netherlands' Churandy Martina at 20.40s and Lykourgos-Stefanos Tsakonas of Greece.
However, there was less fortune for Britain's Danny Talbot, who finished sixth in 20.62s, while James Ellington (20.52s) will have to wait to see if his sixth-place finish in an earlier semi can earn him a place in Friday's showpiece as a fastest loser.
Tomorrow's final is scheduled to begin at 8.49pm.
