Sports Mole looks at five centre-forwards that Manchester United could potentially sign during this summer's transfer window.

Manchester United are set to move for a new centre-forward during this summer's transfer window.

The Red Devils have only managed 37 Premier League goals this season, with Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee netting just six times between them in England's top flight during the current campaign.

It is certainly an area which head coach Ruben Amorim wants to improve during the upcoming market, and with that in mind, Sports Mole looks at five possible options for the 20-time English champions.

Victor Osimhen (Napoli)

Rumoured price: £62m

The speculation linking Osimhen with a move to Man United is gathering pace, with the Nigeria international believed to be firmly on the English club's radar ahead of the summer transfer window.

Osimhen is currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, and he has scored 26 times and registered five assists in 30 appearances for the Turkish giants this term, while the striker has 76 goals and 12 assists in 133 matches for Napoli.

There will allegedly be a £62m release clause in his contract this summer, and it has been suggested that Napoli are keen on Hojlund, opening up the possibility of a swap deal taking place.

Osimhen is one of the leading forwards in world football, so it would be some coup if Man United were able to sign him, but a switch to Old Trafford looks to be a real possibility for the 26-year-old during the summer market.

A deal of this magnitude could be transformative for the 20-time English champions considering his pedigree.

Viktor Gyokeres (Sporting Lisbon)

Rumoured price: £60m

Gyokeres is another high-profile striker expected to be on the move this summer, with the 26-year-old in extraordinary form for Sporting during the 2024-25 campaign, scoring 40 goals in 41 appearances, in addition to registering 10 assists.

The release clause in the forward's deal has been set at £84m, but it is believed that he could be allowed to leave for a fee in the region of £60m during the summer market, while a move at £55m cannot be ruled out.

Gyokeres starred under Amorim at Sporting, and his overall record for the Portuguese giants is 82 goals in 90 appearances, while he has previous experience of English football.

The 26-year-old scored 43 goals and registered 17 assists in 116 appearances for Coventry City ahead of his switch to Portugal, and he could be the perfect player to lead the line in Amorim's 3-4-3 system.

There are other clubs in the running for the Sweden international, though, with Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Liverpool all believed to be keeping a close eye on his situation ahead of the summer market.

Benjamin Sesko (RB Leipzig)

Rumoured price: £66m

Sesko's future is currently the subject of much speculation, with Arsenal known admirers of the attacker, who has scored 17 times and registered six assists in 36 appearances for Leipzig this season.

The 21-year-old is viewed as one of the best young forwards in European football, and it is understood that the release clause in his current contract will rise to a figure in the region of £66m by the end of the campaign.

Sesko has managed 35 goals and eight assists in 78 appearances for Leipzig, following on from the 29 goals and 11 assists that he struck in 79 outings for Red Bull Salzburg earlier in his career.

It is thought that the Slovenia international will make the move to a major team sooner or later, and it is not impossible to imagine him joining the 20-time English champions during this summer's transfer window.

Jonathan David (Lille)

Rumoured price: Free transfer

David's contract with Lille is due to expire at the end of June, and the Canada international has already confirmed that he will be leaving the French club in search of pastures new.

The 25-year-old has again been in excellent form for Lille this season, scoring 23 goals and registering 10 assists in 41 appearances, while he now has 107 goals and 27 assists in 224 outings for the French giants in all competitions.

David's numbers are extraordinary, including 10 goals in 18 Champions League appearances, and there is set to be a scramble for his signature this summer, with Man United involved in the race.

Barcelona are also said to be keen on the Canadian, who is set to have the pick of a number of major European clubs.

David is believed to favour a move to the Premier League, though, and considering Man United's financial situation, it would be a surprise if they did not make a strong attempt to bring in the striker on a free transfer.

Hugo Ekitike (Eintracht Frankfurt)

Rumoured price £60m

Ekitike is believed to be the subject of interest from a number of major clubs this season, with the 22-year-old enjoying an excellent season for Frankfurt, scoring 19 times and registering eight assists in 38 appearances.

The Frenchman has 23 goals and 10 assists in 54 outings for Frankfurt in total, having spent the second half of last season on loan at the club from Paris Saint-Germain before completing a permanent move over the summer.

Aware of the growing interest in his services, Frankfurt have allegedly priced the striker at £60m, with Arsenal and Chelsea also thought to view him as a potential alternative to Newcastle United's Alexander Isak.

Ekitike would be somewhat of a risk at that price considering that he has only had one outstanding season in his career to date, but there is a belief that he could be at a major club in the not too distant future.

Man United are reportedly planning to send scouts to watch the forward in action for France Under-21s against England Under-21s on Friday night, with the two teams set to lock horns in a friendly fixture.
