Dai Greene admits to tiredness

Dai Greene believes that tiredness was a major factor behind him not claiming a medal in the final of the 400m hurdles.

Team GB's Dai Greene blamed tiredness for his failure to land a medal in the final of the men's 400m hurdles this evening.

The Welsh runner came on strong during the closing stages, but he had left himself too much ground to cover and he ended the race one place outside of the medals.

"I just felt a bit tired tonight," he told BBC Sport. "I gave it everything I had but I was a bit too tired a narrowly missed out.

"The endurance wasn't quite there. I couldn't have given it anything else."

Greene had been considered one of the favourites to claim gold prior to the race.
