Dwain Chambers claims a spot in the Great Britain squad for next month's European Indoor Championships despite a recent back injury.

Sprinter Dwain Chambers has been included in Great Britain's squad for the upcoming European Indoor Championships.

A back injury had prevented the 34-year-old from competing at the recent trials in Sheffield and upon his return last weekend at the British Athletics Grand Prix, he only managed to finish fifth.

However, the selectors have opted to name him in the squad for the event in Gothenburg next month.

Meanwhile, the team's captaincy has been handed to 800m runner Jenny Meadows.

"It's a great honour to be named captain of the GB & NI team," said Meadows. "I'm really excited to be given the opportunity to follow Helen Clitheroe, who did such a brilliant job in Paris two years ago."
