Chris Adcock delighted with performance in mixed doubles semi-final

Chris Adcock admits that he could not be happier after booking a spot in the mixed doubles final with wife Gabby.

Chris Adcock has admitted that he could not be happier after he and Gabby Adcock booked their spot in the final of the mixed doubles at the Commonwealth Games.

A 21-14 21-14 victory over Scotland's Robert Blair and Imogen Bankier secured their progress in Glasgow, and Chris was eager to reveal his excitement at the prospect of facing England teammates Chris Langridge and Heather Olver in the final alongside his wife.

"We hardly gave them anything, you never play a perfect game but that was very solid," the 25-year-old told Team England's official website. "We can't really be any happier with that.

"It's great to have an all-England final, that guarantees Team England another gold and a silver. It just shows the strength in depth that we have in badminton in England."

Adcock missed out on another final place after losing in the last four of the men's doubles with partner Andy Ellis.
