Jason Kidd receives two-game suspension

Brooklyn Nets head coach Jason Kidd has received a two-game suspension for driving while ability-impaired.

Brooklyn Nets head coach Jason Kidd has received a two-game suspension after pleading guilty to driving while ability-impaired back in July, it has been confirmed by NBA.com.

Kidd will miss the season opener against the Cleveland Cavaliers on October 30, as well as the first home game of the campaign against the Miami Heat on November 1.

Lead assistant coach Lawrence Frank is expected to step in during his absence, but the Nets have admitted that due to league precedent they expected the decision.

Kidd was treated for minor injuries after the incident, but will now have to take part in community service as part of his punishment.
