Anderson Varejao: 'Injuries have been tough on Cleveland Cavaliers'

Cleveland Cavaliers center Anderson Varejao admits that his side's injury problems have hampered their quest to win the NBA Championship.

Cleveland Cavaliers center Anderson Varejao has admitted that his side's injury problems have made their quest to win the NBA Championship extremely tough.

The 32-year-old was ruled out of the playoffs with an Achilles injury, while Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving have also had their seasons ended.

However, Varejao believes that the Cavaliers has responded well to the adversity, and has backed his teammates to continue to fight in the Finals against the Golden State Warriors.

"It's just tough. I don't know if you can say bad luck," Varejao told reporters. "It's a physical game, and injuries are going to happen.

"I'm just glad the team is responding very well to all the injuries we've had throughout the season. It's a big coincidence I would say though. It's tough."

Cleveland trail the Warriors 1-0 in the Finals going into game two later today at Oracle Arena.
